Code of Conduct

r/HEM_NSFW maintains a strict standard of conduct. This Code of Conduct applies to every post, comment, and interaction in the community. It is a condition of participation.

All members - hobbyists, providers, and newcomers - must communicate with respect and maturity. The moderation team enforces these standards consistently and without exception. Violations will result in content removal, warnings, or temporary or permanent bans.

This Code exists to protect the quality of discussion, ensure providers and newcomers can participate safely, and maintain an environment where accurate information can be shared without hostility or disruption.

Expected Conduct

Speak Respectfully

  • Members must use calm and courteous language at all times.
  • Sarcasm, hostility, condescension, and dismissive phrasing are prohibited.
  • Every participant, including newcomers and providers, must be treated as an equal.

Contribute Helpfully

Stay on Topic

  • Replies must remain relevant to the original post.
  • Unrelated tangents, personal debates, and attempts to derail discussion are not permitted.

Support New Members

  • Members must welcome participants of all experience levels.
  • Gatekeeping, dismissive responses, and elitist behavior are prohibited.
  • Curiosity and constructive questions must be met with patience.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are prohibited and will result in moderation action:

Disrespectful Tone

  • Sarcasm, mockery, passive aggression, or repeated corrections after moderation has already intervened.
  • Any comment intended to belittle, embarrass, provoke, or undermine another member.

Personal Attacks

  • Insults or targeted criticism based on experience level, writing style, or background.
  • Dismissing another member's input because of who they are rather than the substance of their contribution.

Disrespect Toward Providers

  • Objectifying, stereotyping, or demeaning any member who identifies as a provider.
  • Making assumptions about motives, services, or personal lives.
  • Treating providers as anything less than equal community members.

Vulgar or Crude Language

  • Gratuitous sexual phrasing or unnecessary explicit detail in discussions.
  • Derogatory, offensive, or shock-based humor that serves no educational purpose.

Hate Speech or Intolerance

  • Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, or similarly discriminatory content.
  • Any post or comment promoting hate will result in an immediate and permanent ban.

Core Principles

Respect Is Mandatory

  • Members must speak as if addressing the other person directly and in person.

Quality Over Quantity

  • Low-effort, repetitive, or inflammatory contributions are not permitted.

Providers Are Equal Participants

  • Providers participate as full community members. They are entitled to the same respect and protection as every other participant.

Shared Accountability

  • Assume others are here with good intentions.
  • Focus on tone, clarity, and collective learning.

Moderation and Enforcement

The moderation team enforces this Code of Conduct firmly and consistently. Toxic or disruptive behavior undermines trust, discourages honest participation, and damages the community's ability to function effectively.

  • Hobbyists require open, respectful discussion to gain reliable information.
  • Providers require a safe environment to share perspectives without fear of objectification or harassment.
  • Newcomers require freedom from judgment and gatekeeping in order to learn.

Repeated or serious violations will result in content removal and may lead to a permanent ban. There is no tolerance for patterns of disrespectful or disruptive conduct. Members who cannot adhere to these standards should not participate.

Reminder to All Members

This Code of Conduct is not optional. Sarcasm, harassment, and dismissive behavior will be addressed through moderation. r/HEM_NSFW thrives on cooperation and mutual respect. Members are expected to contribute appropriately. Failure to do so will result in action by the moderation team.
